Just in case (and maybe if you partied too much the night before), aspirins are a must. As wedding planner in the south of France, I have to warn you that many of the wedding venues here are situated nearby water points.. Mosquito repellent should be appreciated.
Also, if your shoes are uncomfortable and your feet hurts, take some plasters with you. And why not flip flop ?

By the way, don’t hesitate to take several pair of shoes to make sure you feel comfortable to dance all night long.

Otherwise, a safety pin for your dress, a toothbrush and tissues could help you on your big day.

In first and before booking a wedding planner in France, you need to define the atmosphere you want for your wedding. When you’ll sort out some ideas, you’ll look for the wedding planner who is able to provide the wedding style you want. Intimate, Sophisticated, Atypical, French proposes a large choice of landscape and possibility.

I’m now able to plan sophisticated and formal wedding in a Chateau, but as well a boho and intimated reception on a Mas.

2.What packages are proposed ? 

If you plan your wedding abroad, a package need to be propose for your case.

How plan a civil ceremony in France ?

As Bride and Groom to be dreaming to get married in France, I suppose you would like to know how a civil ceremony in France takes place ? On this post, I’ll give you my wedding planner advices to help you.

Registration and formalities in France

A administrative case has supposed to be ask at the town where you live, or where your parents live. A second house is accepted, but it’s pretty scarce town halls accepts to married couple from abroad. In any case, case needs to be registered maximum 10 days before the DDay. You have to choose 2 legal witnesses for.

Then, you can have the chance to choose your hour, according the town.

Celebration of your civil ceremony in France

A civil ceremony in France goes on around 15min. You can choose exchanging your rings during our not.

In general, it’s indoor the town hall with the legal celebrant,, and  your witnesses.

You can choose to use a formal protocols for that (example : enter with your Dad..), choose a music for.

If it’s a bilingual ceremony, a translator is required, to be sure you understand the laws and engagement before to say I do. And, the celebrant often requires to meet you before.

Reception for you wedding in France

Reception can takes place on the same place (but it’s pretty scarce cause it’s on towns venues, or on a different venue. In France, civil halls doesn’t have registered venue for the celebration, you have the choice.

As wedding planner, I recommend to choose a venue within 30/45min from the ceremony area. In general, venues proposes a full privatization, for a day, or more. Venues which I used to work propose privatization to guarantee hosting perfectly your guests. You choose the style that you want, vineyard farmhouse, villa on the beach, traditional Castle.

                              What about the religious ceremonies ?

If you want to do a religious ceremony in France, registration and pre-obligation are almost the same as for the civil. It depends of the open mind of the celebrant.

In general, they request to meet you one once before the DDay as well. Ceremony goes around 1 hour.

If you schedule a civil and a religious ceremony the same day, civil needs to be done in first. Keep a gap time between the two, according the distance.

To conclude, I recommend you planning your civil ceremony in your residencial country, and then, choose a secular / blessing / laic ceremony the Dday.

  • An pre-session : it’s a session before the DDay if you need for example of nice pictures for your Save the Dates or just to be confident with the vendor
  • Option from the preparatives until the wedding cake : with that, the vendor could capture all the details of your DDay, and take the time to shoot the design details, your moment of complicity and for sure your guest enjoying
  • A web gallery : where you could downloads all the photos after the Dday and share it with your guests (and vendors !) Can be added by an handmade wedding album, with a selection of photo by you and the photographer

Tips from your wedding planner 

As all the other vendors, a first meeting is proposed, free and without commitment. During this, you can confirm you are on the same way with your photographer. And be sure the style corresponds you, and see more photos that on their websites. It’s important the personality seems to you to be as more relaxed as possible on the DDay !

The vendor need to eat and drink during the Day, as you ! Think to plan for water, and soft drinks and at least a meal tray.

Don’t forget to provide to your photographer a DDay schedule (otherwise, your planner will perfectly do this for you!) as he can give you some tips in term of light etc
